Cape Town – A toddler was injured after she fell out of atrain in Cape Town on Monday morning, allegedly because the doors opened beforeit came to a halt, Western Cape police
"It is alleged that the train’s doors opened before thetrain stopped at the station. No criminal case has been opened," policespokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said.
The incident happened around 06:30. The girl was believed tobe 2-years old.
Provincial Metrorail spokesperson Riana Scott said an injuredtoddler was found on the tracks. She was taken to the Red Cross Children’sHospital accompanied by her father.
Scott said the Retreat rapid rail police unit wouldinvestigate the matter. They would wait for the results of the investigationbefore commenting.
