Johannesburg – Two loud bangs were heard when EFF protestersclashed with police near Parliament hours before President Jacob Zuma was dueto deliver his State of the Nation address on Thursday afternoon in
A police line held back EFF protesters who were pushingtheir way through.
Police were heard through loudhailers instructingprotesters to move back, before firing stun grenades and rubber bullets intothe crowds.
EFF protesters fled in different directions after twoloud bangs. Some protesters were heard screaming while fleeing the scene.
The protesters held placards which read, “Zuma is nolonger president but a common criminal arrest him now.”
Some EFF protesters forced their way into a nearbybuilding during the commission. EFF protesters have been seen moving towards StGeorge’s Mall.
